High efficiency wideband RF power bricks

Electricity consumption and the resulting environmental impact, have become one of the most important parameters in High power transmitter, as well as in the recurring cost of broadcasters. In the last years the efforts of main transmitter manufacturers have turned to find the best solution to increase the efficiency, maintaining a good linearity and without a significative increasing of hardware and cost.

Amplifier  designed with Doherty technology are a good solution to meet the requirements. These amplifiers can significantly improve the efficiency, with a very simple structures and without a significant cost increasing, able to work in a very wideband of frequency.
However, this kind of circuits, with low impedance  "load pull", involve very high dimensions that do not allow to reach the power density of the current transmitters. Results of this is that even if the efficiency is higher the dimension of transmitter must be improved.

The new TDE850UHF RF power brick, is the solution to all these problems, in fact with its size of only 115X85X30mm (pin to pin compatible with the TDE800UHF) is capable to deliver 200W  DVB-T with very good linearity values (with linearization) and typical efficiency of 40% across all band.
This Brick Can be installed in most of the existing  transmitters,  avoiding to design new mechanical  and/or electrical parts and  drastically reducing the development time.

The TDE850UHF will be presented at the upcoming IBC2013 (Hall 8 Stand C03)

Coming soon... TDE is now working  on the VHF  version of "wideband Doherty."
The new pallet TDE550VHF will be able to cover the entire VHF band (170-240MHz), with 200W DVB-T min, dimensions of 160X85X30 , pin-to-pin compatible  with  TDE500VHF.
